Put an exhibition online without flattening it
A wall of framed work you move along, with captions where captions belong.
A live, walkable copy of this template. It loads when you ask, so the page stays light. Or open it full screen →
Who it's for. A photographer, a painter, a school, a small museum, anyone with a show that ended and a website that turned it into a grid.
Work hung on a wall has an order and a distance you are meant to stand at. A scrolling grid throws both away. This template keeps them: framed slots on a wall you walk along, each with room for a caption, at a size you chose.
It is a virtual gallery in the plain sense of the phrase: a room with walls, on a website, that anyone can walk into from a link.
Swap the pictures for yours, write the captions, publish. Every piece keeps its text in the page, so the show is findable by what is in it and not only by its title.
What you change
- the images in each frame
- the captions and titles
- how many frames and how they are spaced
- the room: walls, floor, light
It opens straight in the editor: no account, nothing to install. Move things, retype the text, change the light. When you want to keep it, signing in saves it to your own free copy, and publishing gives it a URL of its own that reads as a normal web page to anything that cannot run JavaScript.
