Polygon tools

The full mesh-editing toolset — extrude, inset, loop cut, bevel, weld, bridge, and more — grouped by what you have selected.

Open in the interactive manual →

The interactive version has full-text search, a table of contents, and light/dark themes.

Once you're in component mode, the modeling tools come alive. You can reach them three ways: the Poly menu, the right-click Poly Menu (the fullest set), and the gesture-driven radial wheel. Here's the toolset, grouped by the component you're editing.

Face tools

ToolWhat it does
Extrude EPulls faces outward into new geometry. Arm it and drag in the viewport, or set Extrude dist and click Apply extrude for an exact amount. Adjacent faces extrude together as one watertight region.
InsetShrinks a copy of the face inward, leaving a border ring — the start of a panel or a recess.
Subdivide Ctrl+DSplits each face into four, adding detail.
Poke PAdds a center point and fans the face into triangles.
Triangulate Ctrl+TConverts faces to triangles.
SolidifyGives a thin surface real thickness.
Fill Face FBuilds a new polygon from three or more selected vertices.
Flip NormalsReverses which way faces point (fixes "inside-out" shading).

Edge tools

ToolWhat it does
Loop Cut Ctrl+LInserts a single edge loop all the way around a ring of quads. Select or hover one edge first to set the direction. It cleanly splits any n-gon it crosses.
Multi Loop CutInserts several evenly-spaced loops at once.
Bevel Ctrl+BChamfers an edge into a flat strip — softens hard corners.
Dissolve XRemoves an edge and merges its two faces into one.
Edge SlideSlides edges along the surrounding surface.
Bridge Loops Ctrl+JFills the gap between two edge loops with new faces.

Vertex tools

ToolWhat it does
Connect JDraws a new edge between two selected vertices, splitting the face.
Chamfer COpens a vertex into a small cap.
Smooth SRelaxes vertices toward their neighbors' average — softens lumps.
Weld Ctrl+WMerges selected vertices into one at their center.
Shrink / Fatten Alt+SMoves vertices along their normals (in or out).

Whole-mesh tools

Under Poly ▸ Mesh: Merge vertices (weld every coincident vertex — a global cleanup), Flip normals, and Separate (extract the selected faces into a second mesh).

No "checkerboard fill" If you're hunting for a checkerboard-fill command, it isn't here. The shipped equivalents are Fill Face (build a polygon from selected vertices) and Loop Cut (which splits n-gons as it passes through).
