Building Scenes
The Properties panel
The Inspector edits whatever you have selected — its transform first, then controls specific to the object type.
Open in the interactive manual →The interactive version has full-text search, a table of contents, and light/dark themes.
The Properties panel (docked on the right by default) is your object's control surface. Select something and Properties shows what you can change about it. It always starts with a Transform + Scene section:
- Name and Parent (World or any group).
- Visible checkbox.
- Position, Rotation (with a degrees/radians toggle), Scale, and Pivot — each an X/Y/Z number field.
- Reset all transforms — zeroes position, rotation, and pivot and sets scale back to 1.
Type-specific sections
Below the transform, Properties changes with the object. A few examples:
| Select a… | …and you also get |
|---|---|
| Geometry | The Primitive dropdown and its size/segment parameters, a quick material editor, an Edit in Graph button, and (for imported meshes) a Decimate panel. |
| Camera | FOV, near/far, and the "set active" controls. |
| Text | The text string, size, alignment, and anchors. |
| Particles / Force Field | The full emitter or field controls. |
| Page surface | All the page content and SEO fields. |
Every number field is a precise input — type a value or nudge with the arrow keys (see Move, rotate & scale for the modifier tricks).
