Known limits & what's not built yet

An honest list of things people expect to find that don't exist yet — so you never waste time hunting for them.

The interactive version has full-text search, a table of contents, and light/dark themes.

3dCMS is an early-access product that does a lot — but not everything. Here's a straight list of things you might reach for and not find, so you don't waste time hunting. (Many are noted in context throughout the manual.)

Editor

  • No object-level "Select All." Build selections with clicks and marquees, or group things. (A only selects-all inside component mode.)
  • No per-node lock. You can hide objects, but not lock them from selection.
  • Shadow-casting lights are capped. You can place any number of point & spot lights, but at most four cast shadows at once (the rest still light the scene).

Modeling & materials

  • Imported meshes can't be poly-edited — only the five primitives.
  • No "checkerboard fill" — use Fill Face or Loop Cut.
  • The UV editor adjusts tiling/offset, not unwrapping — there's no auto-unwrap, and imported meshes don't show a UV layout. See UV editor.
  • 3D text is flat — no extrude/depth and no font-family picker. See 3D text.
  • The Multiply and Mix material nodes aren't available in the graph UI (older graphs still load).
  • KTX2 / Basis textures aren't supported on import yet.

Cameras

  • Camera objects are perspective-only — no orthographic toggle on the node. See Cameras.

Web import

  • Imported images stream from the source site; they don't fill your Asset Library.
  • Pages import as panels, not loose per-element objects.
  • JavaScript-loaded (lazy) images may not be captured.

SEO

  • Social links, organization info, FAQ, testimonials, and content sections are published when present but have no dedicated inspector fields yet — they come from import, AI, or a template. There's also no "set as home page" toggle. See Editing page SEO.

MCP

  • The MCP server connects via Claude Desktop and Claude Code (a local server + token). A one-click claude.ai web connector isn't available yet. See Connect Claude.
